The Journey Thus Far!

Hello Everyone! I hope you like my new layout. If you have any problems viewing please try hitting refresh! If you are still having trouble then please email me and let me know.

My life has been on a complete whirlwind as of late...

My friend Brandon's death has impacted me a great deal and still effects a big part of my journey at this time.

We just finished up Vacation Bible School this last week. I helped to teach the 2 and 3 year olds. It was a delight to see their faces light up and get all excited over just about anything. I led them in the song "If You're Happy and you Know It" at commencment. It was all in all a very wonderful week. I took some time off from work so I could more readily enjoy the experience. I am absolutely dreading to go back tomorrow.

I'm officially leaving work Wednesday July 19th. I have to say that my experience with work has probably been one of the biggest and greatest blessings of my life. The people I've met, the journey I've taken, the trials I've overcome, the things I've done that I would never have thought possible...it has been one of the biggest and greatest stepping stones. When I was initially looking for a job before I got hired on at Barnes and Noble I prayed that the Lord would give me a place where I could grow in a way I never had in any of my other previous jobs. Never in a million years did I think He would lead me down that road. But, just like all good things they must come to an end. I feel that my journey at Barnes and Noble as gone as about as far as God is going to take it. Of course it would be safe to stay on longer, but I feel I would end up hurting the company if I did. I know that July 19th will be a hard day, but I can't wait to see what lies around the next bend.

I send out about 78 "Letters of Intent" to various different Production business in North Carolina, out West, and a few even in California. I'm sort of terrified now that they are all mailed out. I have more specific letters to mail out this week. I plan to look on IMDbPro and ProductionHUB for job openings. My hope an prayer is that some small company would be willing to higher me on as a PA (Production Assistant) even though I have no previous experience. God is in control and I just have to remember that.

I was talking to Mary K and said that I was terrified that I was leaving work before I had another job in place. I'm concerned because I haven't saved that much money and all these doubts and dreads of being left high and dry are somewhat getting to me. Well, as my Preacher always says...God does not give grace to those who need it until they step out on faith. So here I am a stepping Lord, HELP!

This next week I plan to update my resume, work on a few of those letters and enjoy the weekend with my sisters at ICTHUS and Father's Day Celebration! It should prove to be FUN! FUN! FUN! and I'm going to try my hardest not to get to stressed out over this stuff.

Well my friends I wish I had some great pearl of wisdom to impart, but I don't. I'm just trying to make through one day at a time and not have the weight of the world come down on me. I wish I had a personal assistant for life.

Will hopefully write more soon. Much love to you all!

Oh, Melissa, you sweet thing!!! I absolutely LOVE the new look!

I am praying for just the right job for you. It takes "moxey" to step out without another one lined up but when the Lord directs, we need to be obedient. Way to go!

Email me any specific prayer requests in regard to your job hunting. Like, when you get interviews lined up...let me know through email and I will pray specifically for the interview, especially DURING the actual interview, etc. Blessings!
