A Hurting Blog Family!

I have read several of your posts this morning and have heard a lot of hurting voices. I too woke up this morning loathing life and feeling beaten and weathered. God is up to something big, and I know that many of us are being sifted like wheat...I want you all to know that I love you dearly and I will be praying for you fervently...I am best comforted through song, so I would like to leave you with a couple of songs that are strong impacts on my life. The first is by Sara Groves, one of my two favorite singers, it is truly what I wish we all could do, and how I feel about each and every one of you. The second is by my second favorite artist Todd Agnew, it is called Martyr's Song, and it was written for Ted Dekker's book with the same title (I think Ted is going to be my new fav Christian Fiction author)...the first time I heard it the veil was literally parted and I, for a brief moment was in the presence of the most high. I hope these words encourage you and bless you hearts...I wish I could do more...I wish I could do much more...

(Please read it won't take but a moment)

Every Minute
I am long on staying
I am slow to leave
Especially when it comes to you my friend
You have taught me to slow down
And prop up my feet
It's the fine art of being who I am
And I can't figure outWhy you want me around
I'm not the smartest person I have ever met
But somehow that doesn't matterNo it never really mattered to you at all
And at the risk of wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self discovery
I'll take every moment
And every minute that you'll give me
And I can think of a time when families all lived together
Four generations in one house
And the table was full of good food
And friends and neighbors
That's not how we like it now
Cause if you sit at home you're a loser
Couldn't you find anything better to do
Well no I couldn't think of one thing
I would rather waste my time on than sitting here with you
And at the risk of wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self discoveryI'll take every moment
And every minute that you give me
And I wish all the people that I loved the most
Could gather in one place
And know each other and love each other well
And wish we all could go camping
And lay beneath the stars
And have nothing to do and stories to tell
We'd sit around the campfire
And make each other laugh remembering when
You're the first one I'm inviting
Always know that you're invited my friend
And at the risk of wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self discoveryI'll take every moment
And every minute that you give me
Every moment and every minute that you give me
Every moment and every minute that you give me
Every minute
-Sara Groves

Martyr's Son

Sing oh son of Zion
Shout oh Child of Mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind

I've been waiting
To dance with you in fields full of colors you have never seen
And I've been waiting
To show you beauty you never dreamed that's always been in you
And I've been waiting
To see you tremble as your embraced by a world saturated with my love
And I've been waiting for the day
When at last I get to say
"My child you are finally home!"

Sing oh son of Zion
Shout oh Child of Mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind
...You are finally home

I've been waiting
To watch you realize what all your longing was for
And I've been waiting
To show you the thread of grace that ran through all your pain
And I've been waiting
To let you drink the water of which the greatest joy on earth was just a taste
And I've been waiting for the day
When at last I get to say
My child you are finally home

Sing oh son of Zion
Shout oh child of mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind
Sing oh daughter of Zion
Cry out oh child of mine
...you are finally home

Every tear you cried dried in the palm of my hand
Every lonely hour was by my side
And every loved one lost
Every river crossed
Every moment every hour was pointing to this day
I've been longing for this day

And I've been waiting
To dance with you in fields of colors you have never seen
And I've been waiting
To show you beauty you never dreamed that's always been in you
And I've been waiting
To see you tremble as your embraced with a world saturated with my love
And I've been waiting for the day
When at last I get to say
"My child you are finally home!"

Sing oh son of Zion
Shout oh Child of Mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind

Sing oh daughter of Zion
Cry out oh Child of Mine
Dance with all the strength that you can find
for you are finally home...

-Ted Dekker and Todd Agnew

those are two beautiful songs that I don't think I've heard yet. I'll try to check them out. Thanks for blessing us with the lyrics.
