INTO THE WEST

This epic show is now into it's third episode. The first two episodes have been like nothing I have ever seen on television. This series exemplifies television as art and storytelling. I am in awe as I watch the stories unfold. This is television at its best. What a wonderful way to use this medium. This is the way it was meant to be used. You forget for a moment that you are looking at a picture screen...the pixels sort of bleed away and suddenly you are on the open prairies staring down Buffalo with "Walks with the Buffalo" or trapped in a cave with Jacob Wheeler or stuck in a storm with Jethro Wheeler. Picture yourself for a moment sitting around a campfire telling stories...what stories would you here? Which stories would you tell? Feel the flames lick your face with heat, smell the coffee and ash wafting up into the air, taste the gritty saltiness of popcorn over and open fire, see the blanket of stars covering your head, and listen to the drums beating in the backgr

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

My Blog is getting a Face Lift...be patient and soon I will have a delicious array of things to view and enjoy...Sorry for any inconvenience!

I've Given you A Lot...

I've given you all a lot to chew on, so this should be plenty until I get back from my Women of Faith Conference in St. Louis...thank you for your prayers...I need it, because I have a bitter seed in me about going...please pray that God will work a miracle... So, for your reading pleasure please feel free to check out... My Vacation Time, a Little Bit about my day, and my beloved show Into the West in... CUTEST LITTLE FISHY IN THE SEA Learn about a song that has recently affected my life in... INSPIRED BY KAT (IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE) And finally learn a little more about my blog in... KAT'S QUESTIONS I hope you enjoy and I love you all! (Forgive the spelling errors...did not feel like proof reading...sorry!)

Cutest Little Fish in the Sea

You know that it's true!…Hee! Hee! Hee! Well, actually my Florida purse says…"The Cutest Fish in the Sea", so I went around to my family members tapping them on their shoulders saying…"Hey Guess What? I'm the Cutest Little Fish in the Sea!" while holding up my purse. I will admit that my sisters and I have our own way of communication, and from the outside it might look quite strange, but in the comfort of these familiar walls I find that I can be more transparent with who I am than with any others on the planet. So, needless the say this is the reason for the title of the blog, and brothers and sisters let me just say I needed this reminder all week while in Florida…"I am the cutest little fish in my sea", soon became my mantra, because in no way did I feel like that. UHHH! Yeah, enough about me feeling gross. Let me share with you some of the wonderful things that happened in Florida…I did keep a journal…pictures will be coming very soon… 6/4/05

Inspired by Kat (in more ways than one)

I was truly inspired by Kat's writing on songs and what they meant to her and how they have affected her. Well, I was listening to on of my new favorite artists Anna Nalick, and one of the songs just hit me over the head with a sledge hammer, because this is exactly how I've lived all my life with the crushes I have and how I create them in my own mind. I am just coming out of another really bad episode…I was trying to create a reality that was in no way there and I just simply made an absolute and complete fool out of myself in front of a lot of people…I often question these actions and wonder if it not only hurts me, because I know how it grinds me to dust, but how it affects the other person inadvertently. Gracious me let me share with you the song lyrics and then I explain further… In My Head Under the weight of your wings You are a god and whatever I want you to be And I wonder if truly you are Nearly as beautiful as I believe In my head Your voice You've got all that

Kat's Questions

1.Why did you name your blog what you named it? Revealing of the fabric between the cover is exactly what I'm trying to do…showing the inner parts of who I am, this is a journal of "my" inmost thoughts…so it is uniquelly me… 2.What's the point of having your blog? Vent frustration? Share your spirit? Share God? Ask questions like these to other bloggers? I love sharing in narratives…I love peeling away that service lay of the book and getting into the heart of human souls…I can do this better in the written word than any other format. I had desired a long time to have a place, a safe place, where I could do just that, so I think I have and blogging is forever in my blood, a way to analyze my life…which is for ever being worked over in my analytical mind. Absolutely, I can relate to ALL OF THE ABOVE and more…I don't want to just be putting things on my blog for the sake of blogging! 3.What is the one thing (and yes, you only get one) that keeps you at the church yo

I'm Back (Only to Leave Again!)

Hello all, back from Florida...have so much to say, and yet can't bring it all together. Will take time! I will head out again this Thursday to go to St. Louis for a Women of Faith Conference. Please pray for me and the ladies attending. I will say that I need this weekend more than anything! There are changes coming to the blog...so stay tuned! I appreciate those loyal few that do...God bless you all! I love you :)

Writing is Re-Writing, Right?

Life is so funny sometimes. I had written my testimony...a whole 8 pages in word, and I was going to post it while I was on vacation these coming weeks, well it was saved on a falty disk and I did not save a copy to my hard drive due to being at work...stupid, yes, I know. So, needless to say my testimony, about three pages of a Christmas story I was working on, and many other things are GONE! I had just re-read my testimony the other day making grammatical corrections and the like, and I was inspired by what I wrote. I was excited about sharing this information with you. However, it just was not meant to be. In the end God has really taught me a lot through this. In the past I would have really gotten upset, cried, and gotten angry, but I gave it over to God this morning, and He is teaching me through this. Does is suck that I can't share a piece of me that is really important with all of you guys, that it was at my fingertips and slipped away, Yes! But in the end it shows me how

So, I'm Tagged...Again!!!

Becky tagged me and I feel so priviledged, plus it is on a topic that I know quite well since I work at a Barnes and Noble and LOVE books, so I hope you enjoy this line of questioning... Total number of books I own: I would say around 250 give or take...I haven't actually counted, but I will say I enjoy buying a book as much as reading a book. Last book I bought: "The Last Sin Eater" and "Lotus Garden" by Francine Rivers Last book I read: "The Magic Of Ordinary Days" by Anne Howard Creel...excellent delicious read. Five books that mean a lot to me: "Sacred Romance" by John Eldridge and Brent Curtis, "Hinds Feet for High Places" by Hannah Hubbard, "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers, "Christy" by Catherine Marshall, "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte Two major books when I was a kid: There is this scratch and sniff christmas book put out by golden books that is about a little bear and his experiences at chr

In My Lifetime...

I'm a little bored and found these interesting questions on Mustang Girl's blog...thought I would answer them... The following all begin with 'In your lifetime, have you....' 1. ...ridden on a rollercoaster? Yes I have. I haven't decided how I feel about them yet. I'm afraid of them, but there is a part of me that wishes I wasn't...there is a part of me that wishes I could LOVE them...I haven't been on a rollercoaster in about a year and a half...and my friend had to force me on that one! 2. ...performed (in any area of the arts) onstage? Oh Yes! I took ballet as a small child...something I wish I had kept up, I sang in the choir for many years - both church and school, and have been involved in theatre arts...how I miss performing on stage...I need a gig...pouring yourself on stage as another character is the most freeing thing. 3. ...planted a garden? NO! (I have black thumbs :( 4. ...ever had to reformat your hard drive due to a virus/spyware? NO...I
